
All regular employees of Bataan General Hospital were gathered last April 15, 2015 for the first General Assembly this year and it was presided by the Medical Center Chief, Dr. Glory V. Baltazar. One of the agenda of the said assembly was about the BGH before and after wherein Dr. Baltazar highlighted the big difference between the old and new BGH especially in terms of the buildings, medicines/supplies, medical equipment/instruments, grant of employees' benefits and manpower. Likewise, she discussed the performance indicator of BGH as well as physical reports of operations such as the bed occupancy which is consistently increasing from 71% in 2006 to 124.60% in 2014, total admission from 15, 392 in 2006 to 26, 868 in 2014, number of OPD patients served from 45, 986 in 2006 to 74, 898 in 2014 and other related reports. Dr. Baltazar was able to discuss also the awards and accreditation that were received by BGH like ISO-QMS Certification in 2014, Red Orchid Award for 2 consecutive years (2013 & 2014), Newborn Screening and Animal Bite Treatment Centers Award of Excellence and area for PhilHealth Benchmark both local and international. Furthermore, she emphasized the improvements and accomplishments of BGH for year 2014 namely the construction of OPD waiting area and comfort rooms, opening of TB-DOTS center and Pharmacy at OPD as well as the institutionalization of Women & Child Protection unit. Additionally, Dr. Baltazar discussed the financial report for year 2014 and the future plans of BGH.
On the other hand, Dr. Baltazar presented to the attendees the BGH policy on rewards and sanctions which is applicable both for regular and job order employees wherein she emphasized the process of selecting the employee of the month and employee of the year including the rewards that they will receive. On the other hand, Dr. Baltazar mentioned the different sanctions that will be imposed to each employee who will violate the rules and regulations of the hospital. Likewise, the work instruction on issuing Corrective and Preventive Action Report (CPAR) with major non-conformity and percentage distribution of deduction to offenders were also covered during the said discussion. Lastly, the new BGH scorecard for offenses with corresponding sanctions was also presented depending on which department/section they belong.
It was followed by an Open Forum wherein several concerns of employees were raised and cleared. The said scorecard was approved by the body with minor corrections and modifications. Furthermore, Mr. Maurillo Jaraba, Nursing Attendant II, was elected as Level I representative for the Personnel Selection Board over Ms. Eden Laggui, Nursing Attendant II.
