The Groundbreaking Ceremony of BGH’s Pediatric Building coincides with the BGH’ 75th Founding Anniversary held last December 2, 2016. It was indeed a successful event. The event became successful being graced with the presence of good leaders with their names worth to mention: DOH Secretary Dr. Paulyn Jean B. Rosell-Ubial, Hon. Albert Raymond S. Garcia, Congresswoman Geraldine B. Roman and Assistant Secretary of Health for Central Luzon and Visayas Cluster Dr. Leonita P. Gorgolon. The same was also attended by the Honorable Mayor Francis Garcia of Balanga, Bataan, Honorable Mayor Generosa M. Dela Fuente of Samal, Bataan, Municipal Health Officers and BGH family.

The Philippine National Anthem, DOH Hymn and BGH Hymn were sung by the BGH’s choir. The BGH’s band also remarks the event with their music.

BGH – DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MEDICINE NOW RECOGNIZED AS A NEW FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY TRAINING PROGRAM BY THE PHILIPPINE ACADEMY OF FAMILY PHYSICIANS

The hospital’s Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) has successfully hurdled the rigorous FM residency training accreditation process by the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP). The accreditation team visited the hospital on October 19, 2016 and was composed of Dr. Josefina S. Isidro-Lapeña, Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine of the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital, and Dr. Gary D. Galon, Training Officer of the Department of Family Medicine of Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City. The accreditation team made use of the PAFP standard tool for accreditation and had looked upon the faculty credentials, learning facilities, program development, teaching strategies and venues for evaluation. The accreditation team recognized the completeness of the documents presented and had largely praised the substantial contribution of the hospital’s ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems.

BGH BAGS 2ND PLACE (REGIONAL DIVISION) FOR GAWAD KALASAG 2016

The Bataan General Hospital has been awarded as the 2nd Place Regional Winner for Gawad KALASAG 2016 by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) on October 14, 2016 at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center. The Gawad KALASAG is an annual event recognizing the efforts of various government agencies involved in the exemplary demonstration of a systematic and orderly standard emergency response mechanism and for mainstreaming and ensuring institutionalization of Health Emergency Management (HEM).
