
The Bataan General Hospital through its Animal Bite Treatment Center conducted a lay forum on Rabies Awareness on March 10, 2017, at the Out-Patient Department in line with the observance of National Rabies Awareness every month of March. Mr. Romeo C. Tuazon Jr, HEPO, gave his lecture about the Basics of Rabies specifically its modes of transmission, signs and symptoms and ways on how to prevent it. In addition, Ms. Blenda Pajares, ABTC Nurse, discussed the Rabies management especially the importance of early consultation as well as the completion of the required vaccination.
In sum, BGH-ABTC caters around 100 patients a day which came from different municipalities of Bataan and other nearby provinces. The clinic schedule is every Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm while at the Emergency department every weekends and holiday. It is the policy of BGH-ABTC to institute standard, safe and quality treatment and management to victims of animal bites in order to diminish its morbidity and subsequent mortality.
