The Bataan General Hospital bagged three major awards during the 4th Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health (CLEXAH) 2015 last February 04, 2016 at the Holiday Inn, Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. The said event was organized by the DOH Regional Office III to recognize the champions in the delivery of quality health care in order to achieve the DOH's Millennium Development Goals, Universal Health Care or Kalusugan Pangkalahatan and High Impact Five Program 2015.

The DOH Red Orchid Award was given to BGH for the third time (2013, 2014, 2015) leading to the Hall of Fame for its implementation of a 100% Tobacco-Free Environment. The said award is judged using the World Health Organization MPOWER initiative wherein BGH garnered a total score of 108.70% which is higher than the set score of 95-100%. MPOWER is an acronym that denotes the six proven tobacco control policies, namely: Monitor tobacco control policies; Protect people from tobacco smoke, Offer help to quit tobacco use; Warn against the danger of tobacco; Enforce bans on tobacco advertising and Raise taxes on tobacco.

Bataan HAVEN (Home Away from Verdict of Society Ensuring Nurture) serves also as a site for benchmarking of other institutions that are planning to have their own because of its best practices in handling such case. It offers services such as pre/post-test counseling, rapid screening test, treatment adherence counseling, and provision of anti-retroviral therapy as well as antibiotic prophylaxis.

Lastly, BGH was also recognized as DOH-Designated Newborn Screening (NBS) Training Facility for its outstanding support, commitment and excellent performance in the operation of Newborn Screening in the hospital.
