early wins

The Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center has successfully conducted its Strategy Review for its Performance Governance System on December 20-21, 2018 which was spearheaded by the Office for Strategy Management (OSM). The Strategy Review is a backward-looking assessment which measures and analyzes the performance of each unit. It is routinely done on quarterly basis by the OSM together with unit heads and leadership team. Likewise, it is an opportune time for the unit heads to evaluate their milestones deliverables that are based on their strategic contributions which are regularly monitored through the use of scorecards.

Dr. Glory V. Baltazar, Medical Center Chief II, emphasized the importance of PGS since it is part of the Performance Accountability pillar of the FOURmula One Plus for Health of the present DOH secretary Francisco T. Duque III. She clarified the distinction between ISO and PGS wherein ISO focuses on the routine day to day activities of the hospital while PGS is beyond better (not business as usual). She reminded the body that their strategic contributions / function have already been integrated with their Individual Performance Commitment Review (IPCR) which can be regularly monitored though the Weekly Accomplishment Review and Monitoring (WARM).

Each unit was given a chance to present their strategic contribution milestone report for the months of July to December 2018 as well as their new strategic contributions for the year 2019. After that, the OSM presented to the body the EARLY WINS of BGHMC for the year 2018 based on the core and support processes that are stated in the BGHMC Strategy Map.
