The Bataan General Hospital through the initiative of Dr. Glory V. Baltazar, Medical Center Chief, and Bataan HAVEN has extended its social support to the Morong Municipal Health Office in conducting their HIV Awareness Campaign and celebration of AIDS Candlelight Memorial which was held last May 18, 2016 at the Municipal Covered Court. According to Dr. Anne Charmaine Quezon, OIC-MHO, the main objective of the said event was to demonstrate the importance of civil society to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support and also to promote awareness in all levels about the said disease.

Dr. Noel Laxamana, BGH - HIV AIDS Core Team (HACT) Physician, gave his lecture on the significance of HIV testing and the referral system to Bataan HAVEN. Likewise, Dr. Laxamana promoted the services being offered by the Bataan HAVEN which is the only treatment hub for person living with HIV in the province. Aside from the distribution of IEC flyers, condoms and lubes, an on-site testing booth was provided by the team especially to those who want to know their HIV status wherein some of the attendees were voluntarily counseled and tested.

The said event was attended by local health workers, barangay officials, LGBT community, teachers, 4Ps head and pregnant mothers.
