The Bataan General Hospital has successfully launched the Hospital Hi-5 last August 10, 2015 at the Out-Patient Department with a theme "Alagang Pinoy, Alagang DOH, tungo sa Kalusugang Pangkalahatan". The program was formally started with an invocation which was delivered by Mr. Romeo C. Tuazon Jr, Health Education & Promotion Officer II followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, DOH and BGH Hymns by the BGH singers. Dr. Glory V. Baltazar, Medical Center Chief I, gave her welcome remarks wherein she discussed the overview of the said program. Hi-5 which stands for High Impact Five focuses on the five critical interventions such as maternal health, Infant health, Child health, and HIV-AIDS and Service delivery network.

Furthermore, Dr. Baltazar emphasized its four major initiatives namely the Alagang Pinoy brand that puts the patients first, aimed at improving the experience and perceptions of patients in DOH hospitals. Second is strengthening the Service Delivery Network which ensures that patients are matched within their network of health facilities and providers. Next is the Kapit-Bisig para sa Kalusugan Pangkalahatan which is a medical-surgical caravan that will be done simultaneously on October 19-23, this year by all DOH Hospitals (in collaboration with the DOH Regional Offices and LGU Hospitals) in the priority provinces in our country. And lastly, Ensuring Availability of Drugs and Medicines that ensures the availability of drugs and medicines in all DOH Hospitals in support of the No Balance Billing Policy.

Dr. Baltazar reminded all BGH employees together with other health care workers from different rural health units and district hospitals to always keep in mind and to put into action the DOH 5 C's which stands for commitment, competence, compassionate & caring, creativity and clean & green.

The said event was attended by Assistant Regional Director Dr. Louella Estember from DOH Regional Office 3, Hon. Gaudencio Ferrer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Ms. Geraldine Roman representing Hon. Congresswoman Herminia Roman Dr. Roberto Luneta of DOH-Bataan, chief of hospitals, municipal health officers and rural health physicians from the province of Bataan.

Hospital activities such as Buntis Congress, Medical-Surgical Mission, Under Five Care, HIV testing, mass blood donation and smoking cessation counseling were simultaneously done and attended by the people of Bataan right after the opening ceremony.
