Bataan General Hospital celebrates National Women’s Month
The Women’s Month is usually celebrated in all parts of the county every month of March in recognition of the important role of women in the society. With a national theme of “We Make Change Work for Women”, Bataan General Hospital conducted a lay forum. BGH’s Medical Center Chief, Dr. Glory V. Baltazar gave her inspirational message among those women and pregnant patients who attended the said event on March 23, 2017, at the Out-patient Department. Also, Dr. Don Arlie Romeo, head of Surgery Department, gave his lecture on Breast Cancer wherein he emphasized the importance of early detection of the disease through having a regular breast self-examination and mammography especially among those who have a family history of said disease. On the other hand, Dr. Elmer Santos, OB-Gyne oncologist, discussed his topic on Cervical Cancer particularly on its cause, common manifestations, and management.

Bataan General Hospital observes World TB Day
The Bataan General Hospital joins the international community in the celebration of World Tuberculosis Day on March 24, 2017, with a theme “Unite to End TB” through a lay forum among TB patients and their significant others which were conducted at the Out-Patient Department of the hospital. Dr. Glory V. Baltazar, Medical Center Chief, gave her welcome remarks thereby re-emphasizing that government hospital like BGH is working for the patients to provide quality health care services. Dr. Baltazar encouraged those patients who are afflicted and suffering from TB to comply with their treatment regimen by taking their drugs religiously and living a healthy lifestyle.
BGH relaunches its Public Health Programs
The Bataan General Hospital has successfully relaunched its Public Health Programs through a Service Delivery Network meeting which was held on May 17, 2017 at the BGH conference room. The said event was attended by different municipal health officers, chiefs of hospitals, public health nurses and rural health midwives in the Province of Bataan. Dr. Glory V. Baltazar, Medical Center Chief II, gave her welcome remarks wherein she reminded the attendees on the three guarantees of the Philippine Health Agenda namely All Life Stages and Triple Burden of Disease, Service Delivery Network and Universal Health Insurance in the attainment of All Health-related Sustainable Development Goals and also to achieve the goals of financial risk protection, better health outcomes and responsiveness.
BGH was recognized by the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU)
Bataan General Hospital (BGH) was recognized by the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) during the latter’s celebration of its 10th anniversary as one of its partners. The university’s appreciation to the hospitals’ contribution was captured in a certificate of appreciation received by the Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Glory V. Baltazar on March 23, 2017 at Grand Ballroom, Lou-is Resort, Balanga City, the hospital is an accredited institution for the related learning experience of BPSU nursing students and also accepts on the job training for courses on BS Accountancy and BS in Psychology.
